We the Executive of GaDangme Europe (GDEu) wishes to express our Profound Gratitude to the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo and the Mayor of Accra Oko Vanderpuije for a bold step taken to prevent a repeat of this month’s deadly floods.
Last Saturday, Old Fadama also known as Sodom and Gomorrah, a neighborhood of Ghana’s capital razed hundreds of homes been built on the korle lagoon and over the years has cause a lot of floods in Accra, the capital city of Ghana.
As by law required we will be glad if city authorities will abide by what the law says by destroying dwelling within 100 meters of the korle lagoon that borders Sodom and Gomorrah in a preparatory step towards dredging and widening a channel for the korle lagoon to flow smoothly in the sea.
Again, we are pleading with government to respect the rights of people living in the neighborhood, which is part of Agbogbloshie suburb, And as a matter of concern if city authorities could move them gradually by first and foremost relocating the local market to a higher ground.
Long live Accra, Long live Ghana!!!!!!
